Through the voices of ten young people living in Berlin and New York, this 22-minute film highlights the insight of children of immigrants in two societies struggling with migration and national identity.
Residing on different continents but sharing similar questions and experiences, the ten interviewees reflect on their family’s immigration process, growing up with multiple cultures, and how they see themselves today. The video is a tool to lead discussions on complex identities, the impact of immigration, and many forms of racism, in the context of both societies’ increasing diversity. Winner of the 2011 Euro Media Award for Culture of Diversity, and the Demokratie und Toleranz Award 2014.
Screenings are accompanied by either a simple Q&A or guided discussions on migration, identity and racism.
